    Koncem 30. let 20. století byl sovětský kolový pásový tank BT-7 vybaven vznětovým motorem V-2. Nová modifikace byla označena jako BT-7M a vyráběla se do září 1940. Úspornější vznětový motor nejen snížil nebezpečí požáru tanku, ale také dvakrát a půlkrát zvýšil jeho dojezd.
