    Mustangy, známé svými boji nad Evropou v řadách spojeneckých vzdušných sil, byly v první řadě čistokrevnými stíhačkami, které úspěšně doprovázely nálety „létajících pevností“ proti Říši a dovedly německou Luftwaffe k jejímu konečnému zániku. Neméně důležité a zajímavé však byly bitvy proti Japoncům, kterých se Mustangy zúčastnily v oblastech včetně Číny a Barmy.
