Introduction

The British publishing house Valiant brings us a completely new publication about the legendary Hurricane from its beginnings - the first prototypes, through notorious versions, to such rarities as reconnaissance versions, seaplane, two-seater with radar, or even a rear range…Valiant's publications are always full of really interesting period photographs, and this case is same. The 1/72 Airfix and Arma, 1/48 Hasegawa kits are shown in the traditional chapter on how to build aircraft, and again the Czech track in the form of 1/32 Fly is remained.

About the book

The publication has a respectable 272 pages in English, printed in color on coated paper.

The publication combines both history and walkarounds, original drawings and really rare photographs with a focus on true enthusiasts and modelers. The zero chapter focuses on the history of the type, from previous models and the first prototypes to export to Yugoslavia ...

The first chapter introduces us to the MkI, including the service in Finland on skis, as well as such rarities as machines designed to teach braking on landing…

Next chapter is about the evolution of the Hurricanes, the Mk.II - V version. With a lot of bizarreness, such as the Russian Hurricanes with a rear range or radar.

The description of the development of explorers and testing machines is not forgotten either. Here, for example, a post-war testing machine with a laminar wing.

I must admit that when I looked at the Yugoslav machine, I felt nostalgic and I remembered one of my first plastic models, Direction - exHeller in 1/72…25 years ago ...

Airframe & Miniature No.16: The Hawker Hurricane – A Complete Guide To The Famous Fighter 07

Valiant is really closely focused on modellers and always analyzes in great detail all available or even those no longer produced kits in very detailed descriptions of individual kits. This includes a description of their strengths and weaknesses, or their necessary adjustments.

The content also includes construction reviews of several kits, namely: 1/72 Airfix and Arma, 1/48 Hasegawa, and again the Czech footprint in the form of 1/32 Fly.

Personally, at Valiant, I really appreciate clear analyzes of the differences between the individual versions, directly on the 3D views.

Of course, there is a very extensive chapter describing the analysis of all the main available accessories to individual kits.

And riveting drawings can never be missing in any quality monograph.
